I have been in the field of geriatrics for a total of 34 years. I began as a nursing assistant, became an LPN in 1982 and then an RN in 1992. In 2003, I went to the weekend college program at St. Catherine’s University to complete my Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. I wish I could tell you that enough is enough and I’m done now, but I am actively looking into different Master’s programs. I am trained in Infection Control and I am certified as a Public Health Nurse as well as in the field of Geriatrics. Nursing has and always will be my passion. On the personal side, I am married. My husband, Damudar and I live in Apple Valley. We have a blended family of 3, my son, Robbie and daughter, Amy as well as his daughter, Simone. We have 4 beautiful grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Alex and Brook who just make everything so much more fun. We also have a very spoiled little Schnoodle named Rusty who makes us laugh daily. We love spending time at the lake with all of them, as well as traveling when we are able. We are both nurses, so there are times that coordinating our time off has been a challenge. Although I have lived in Apple Valley for over 30 years, I am originally from the Iron Range, with most of my family still living in Hibbing or Duluth. |
