Can you imagine the joy of helping a five-year-old learn to read? Can you imagine teaching an eight-year-old to cast a fishing line or finding a hand-made valentine from a four-year-old in your mailbox? These joys and more await you as a volunteer at the Intergenerational Learning Center, located one block from The Commons on Marice.

With its emphasis on intergenerational experiences, the Learning Center is unlike any other educational program in the nation. When the first and the third generation meet, discoveries are made and, most importantly, bonds are formed. Supervising all activities are professional staff who are extraordinary in every way — in their training, in the pledge to quality care and in their commitment to each and every child.

The Learning Center is owned by Intergenerational Living and Health Care, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and older adults.
